Agate Necklace, Bronze Pentagram Pendant, Custom Jewelry
This gorgeous slice of Agate has brown, gray, orange and white bands, encased in a gold tone plating. We added a bronze pentagram pendant and finished it with soft brown paracord. Necklace measures 28” in length so it’s easy to layer with other pieces!
Agate is the name given to numerous varieties of banded Chalcedony, a mineral of the Quartz family. Its name comes from the Achetes River in Sicily, where Agates were first found. Usually banded in layers, or stripes, some varieties have "eye" markings, or specks of color, some have fossilized inclusions, and others are solid. Called the earth rainbow, the concentric bands of Agate form in nearly every color the earth can produce, including a colorless form.
Historically, Agate has been discovered with the artifacts of Neolithic people, and was used as healing amulets and ornamentation dating back to Babylon. Its medicinal uses continued through the ancient Greek and Egyptian civilizations, and spread throughout Africa and the Middle East into Russia. Agate sparked a world renowned stonecutting and polishing industry in Germany that flourished from the 15th to the 19th century, and exists today.
Metaphysically, Agate has a lower intensity and vibrates to a slower frequency than other stones, but is highly regarded as a stabilizing and strengthening influence. The layered bands of microscopic quartz in Agate may appear delicate, they are actually very strong. Agate is excellent for balancing emotional, physical and intellectual energy, and in harmonizing yin and yang, the positive and negative forces of the universe.

We hope our packaging looks as pretty as the gift inside! That is something that we take a lot of pride in. We have gift boxes, sheer organza bags, cards, etc. If you want something special, email us and we will do what we can to tailor it to the person you’re sending it to or the occasion. But if you’re splurging on yourself, rest easy, when it comes out of our workroom for shipping it will still look special!
A lot of our time is spent out at festivals, shows, events, etc. We specialize in one-of-a-kind handcrafted pieces. What you see online might not be what you’re looking for but you know what you want (at least a little). My sister, Beth, is a master at anything hemp, leather or metal. I love any kind of stone I can find and unique pendants on silk cord, leather and chain. Send us an email and together we will bring that vision to life. The best part of custom is having your hand in the design of it, you’ll get what you want.
Sizing can be difficult sometimes. The best thing to have is a soft measuring tape so you can get a feel of the length you want. Some people want pieces for certain necklines and it matters where you want it to sit. We’ve had people give or send us string they cut for the length. It’s funny I know but it worked in a pinch. There’s customers out there who can’t just come out and ask what size the person wears for their bracelet or something.
Quite honestly we try to make whatever we make out of quality materials. We don’t use silver or sterling silver because it tarnishes. There are times you do have something that tarnishes or darkens but we try the best we can to avoid that. We make our pieces and leave them exposed to the air so we can not sell a piece until we know the findings, crimps, clasps, spacers, etc. will not tarnish.
